ANOTHER LADY M*RDERED IN LAGOS, VIYAL PARTS REMOVED

MAN UNITED SIGNS TWO NEW PLAYERS

Man Utd have submitted a revised Champions League squad to UEFA for their last-16 tie with La Liga winners Atletico Madrid.

Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek have been removed from United's Champions League squad

Manchester United have removed Amad, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial from their Champions League squad for the last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid.

But fourth choice goalkeeper Lee Grant and centre back Phil Jones have been added to the list of players available for the crunch two-legged tie with Diego Simeone's side.

Clubs are allowed to make up to three changes to their squad after the January transfer window and while United have removed a trio of senior players, they have added Grant and Jones, who has featured twice since returning from injury.

Amad started for United in their dead-rubber group game against Young Boys, but joined Glasgow giants Rangers on loan for the second half of the season.

Donny van de Beek started three of United's six group games but has now joined Everton on loan, while Anthony Martial started in the win at Villarreal but has now joined Sevilla for the rest of the campaign.

United had to submit their 'List A' players to the governing body by 11pm on February 1, but can still add List B players, who are those under the age of 21, before each matchday.

After Ralf Rangnick fielded a youthful squad against Young Boys United already have Matej Kovar, Teden Mengi, Bjorn Hardley, Hannibal Mejbri, Charlie Wellens, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Sam Mather, Anthony Elanga and Shola Shoretore on their B list.

Their opponents in the last-16 have added Reinildo Mandava and Daniel Wass to their List A squad. United travel to Madrid for the first leg on Wednesday, February 23 before the return at Old Trafford on Tuesday, March 15.

United's 2021/22 Champions League squad:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Henderson, Heaton, Grant, Kovar (B)

Defenders: Lindelof, Bailly, Jones, Maguire, Varane, Dalot, Shaw, Telles, Wan-Bissaka, Mengi (B), Hardley (B)

Midfielders: Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Fred, Fernandes, Sancho, Matic, McTominay, Mejbri (B), Wellens (B), Savage (B), Iqbal (B), Mather (B)
